Witnesses say man attempted to abduct 4-year-old from Suffolk bus stop

Suffolk, Va. – Police in Suffolk are now searching for a man who witnesses say tried to abduct a 4-year-old from a bus stop on Friday morning.

This happened in the 300 block of North Broad Street in downtown Suffolk.

Calls about the incident came in at around 8:35 a.m. after a student told the bus driver what happened.

The bus driver took action and contacted officials and the police.

Officers talked to several witnesses who told them that the victim was waiting for the bus to Elephants Fork Elementary. They say a man approached and grabbed the child. The student was released unharmed. The suspect ran away from the area witnesses say.
