Masked Shell station robbery suspects sought in Newport News

Newport News Police are looking for two people who robbed the Shell station at 10732 Jefferson Avenue on Monday night and may be responsible for several other recent robberies.

Officers responded to the business at 9:14 p.m.

Police learned that the two men had entered the business. One man displayed a black hand gun and demanded cash,  the other took the cash from the register. As the owner stepped out of a back room the man with the weapon pointed it at him.

The men fled from the business and ran northbound towards Ivy Farms Road.

The suspects appear to be the same suspects involved in the Citgo robbery from December 4th and the Hop-n-Shop robbery from December 6th.

Robberies believed to be involved in this trend:

December 4, 2014, 2330 hours: Citgo at 780 J. Clyde Morris Blvd., NN

December 6, 2014, 2139 hours: Hop-n-Shop at12961 Jefferson Avenue, NN

December 8, 2014, 2114 hours: Shell Station at 10732 Jefferson Avenue, NN
