A 28-year-old Norfolk woman was sentenced Tuesday to 17.5 years in federal prison, followed by a lifetime of supervised release, for producing child pornography.
Shavonna Lakita Whitfield pleaded guilty on August 26.
She, along with with 4 other women, became involved in a conspiracy when they were contacted online by co-conspirator Robert Harold Scott, Jr under his assumed online identity “Mike Pyro.”
Officials say he set up sex parties where women would work as prostitutes. Instead of paying them, officials say he extorted the women by threatening to publish sexually explicit videos.
Investigators say Scott made even more demands of the women. He also conspired to and produced child porn with five of them. When he talked about the parties, he would sometimes ask the women to produce child porn and was very specific about what he wanted done on camera.
Whitfield complied in return for the promise of money. Specifically, Whitfield produced child pornography with a 3 year old child.
Three of the other women, Shaniesta Banks, Nina Calderon and Sierra Halsey, were all sentenced to 15 years in prison in October.
In November, a fourth woman, Kathleen LaTouche, was sentenced to 60 years in prison for her involvement, while Robert Harold Scott was sentenced to life in prison.
