UPDATE: NCDOT has reopened NC 12 from the Bonner Bridge, south to Rodanthe. They say they will be monitoring conditions throughout the evening and overnight as high tide approaches. Should conditions be deemed too dangerous for travel at the evening high tide, around 8:30 p.m., NCDOT crews will coordinate with local law enforcement to temporarily close down the road again until water levels recede.
