A non-profit program aimed at teaching data management skills to thousands of veterans is being described as a lottery win by graduates.

CBS This Morning profiled the program, run by NS2 Serves, which teaches veterans how to use the data management software from the SAP Corporation.

“This is like a lottery ticket and it’s not a scratch off, it’s a Powerball,” NS2 Serves graduate Mark Brummit told CBS.

Veterans often leave their military service and have a hard time finding employment as a civilian. Some blame a lack of employable skills while others think employers are scared of potential PTSD.

SAP’s software is used in banking, factory operations, and military intelligence. A certificate from the program gives veterans a leg up in the job hunt.
