Chesterfield County, Va. — A grandmother and her family escaped their burning car on Interstate 95 north in Chesterfield shortly before the vehicle was engulfed in flames Tuesday morning. The fire closed northbound lanes of I-95, south of Route 10 for about an hour.
Drivers spotted the burning car driving on the interstate and signaled the driver, a 51-year-old grandmother, to pull over. The grandmother, her two grandchildren (ages two and 18) and her 21-year-old daughter-in-law made it out of the car unharmed.
Video taken at the scene showed the car burning along the side of I-95. An explosion and flash of fire can be seen at the :08 mark of this video.
