The story of Neal Shytles, the Norfolk homeless man whose only wish was to spend Thanksgiving with a family, has touched the hearts of people all over the country. However, there are still hundreds of homeless who desperately need help. NewsChannel 3 took action to help the men at the Union Mission shelter in Norfolk Monday night, going on a nearly $600 shopping spree for much-needed blankets and hooded sweatshirts.
There are still several other items the Union Missionstill needs:
-Exercise mats, which are used to sleep on
-Hooded men’s sweatshirts in every size
-Larger sized coats for women
-Bus passes ($19 for packs of five available at Farm Fresh)
