A 27-year-old Virginia Beach man has been sentenced to life in prison for producing child pornography.
Robert Harold Scott was convicted in July on 28 counts of child porn and destruction of records.
Officials say Scott used the online name “Mike Pyro” to communicate with women around the Tidewater area.
They say he set up sex parties where these women would work as prostitutes. Instead of paying them, officials say he extorted the women by threatening to publish sexually explicit videos.
Investigators say Scott made even more demands of the women. He also conspired to and produced child porn with five of them. When he talked about the parties, he would sometimes ask the women to produce child porn and was very specific about what he wanted done on camera.
As a result of Scott’s actions, seven different children, ages 1 to 5 years old, were sexually abused. Four of these women already pleaded guilty in Federal court to production of child pornography, and one of these women pleaded guilty in Chesapeake Circuit Court.
