Worker at Dare County Detention Center arrested on drug charges

Dare County, N.C. – A food service worker at the Dare County Detention Center has been arrested on drug charges.

52-year-old Nancy Lee Reichenbach of Manteo was arrested by members of the Dare County Narcotics Task Force and charged with possession of a controlled substance inside jail premises.

Reichenbach allegedly had prescription medication on the jail grounds. Detention Center Food Service workers are employees of a private contractor and do not work for Dare County.

Reichenbach had been employed for less than a month. She was released on $1,500 bond.

The Dare County Narcotics Task Force consists of officers from the Dare County Sheriff’s Office, The Nags Head, Kitty Hawk and Kill Devil Hills Police Departments, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation and the North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement Division.
