Bomb threats bring early end to Peanut Festival Parade in Suffolk

Suffolk, Va. - Two morning bomb threats caused the Peanut Festival Parade to end early in Suffolk.

The Suffolk Police Departments and Suffolk Fire and Rescue responded to the scene around 10:45 a.m.

Police received two bomb threats for the Godwin Courts Building  located at 150 North Main St.

The area was evacuated and a suspicious package was found in the courtyard area of the building.

The package, they found out, contained laundry and laundry detergent.

The Fire Marshall's Office is investigating.
