Benefitting the Navy SEAL Foundation and Wounded Warrior Project

The Tidewater Chapter wishes to honor the service members lost on August 6, 2011 when Extortion 17 was downed in Afghanistan. The CH-47 Chinook helicopter, call sign Extortion 17, was tragically shot down by enemy fire in Afghanistan resulting in the worst loss of life in a single incident during the Afghanistan campaign; 30 active duty military and one military working dog were killed in action on this day.

The event will showcase the lacrosse community's spirit and willingness to give back to the community, and all memorial donations and funds raised from the game will be presented to the Navy SEAL Foundation and the Wounded Warrior Project in the memory of these warriors.

Two Powerhouses of Men's NCAA Division I Lacrosse, the University of Virginia and The United States Naval Academy, both volunteered to compete and honor the men of Extortion 17.

Look for a game filled with action and excitement while both teams put on a show for everyone to enjoy from start to finish. This fall ball game will help set the tone for their offseason preparation in which both teams compete to return to national prominence.
