Update: The James River Bridge has reopened to southbound traffic as follows:
- Two southbound lanes open to all traffic on the bridge deck heading from Newport News
- Once motorists are past the bridge deck heading toward Isle of Wight County, the right lane will be blocked due to standing water
- Virginia State Police are on site to assist with traffic control
- Motorists should anticipate delays and use the I-664 MMMBT as an alternate route
