Norfolk, Va. – A man was seriously injured in a moped accident at around 2 p.m. Sunday afternoon, police tell NewsChannel 3.
The driver of the moped is currently in stable condition.
Police say he fell asleep while operating his moped. His moped hit a guardrail and the man was conscious when he was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
Neither alcohol nor speed were factors in this crash.
The driver of the moped has been charged with Failure to Maintain Proper Control and Reckless Driving.
He was the only person involved in the accident.
