Several roads closed due to unstable building in Norfolk

Until further notice, E. Princess Anne Road between Tidewater Drive and Hanson Avenue will be completely closed to through traffic due to an unstable four-story structure located at E. Princess Anne Road and Bolton Street.

The City of Norfolk says the closure is necessary to protect those driving by while the building's owner takes the necessary steps to stabilize the structure.

The owner is providing security personnel to maintain the road closure and site security while improvements are made.

Motorists are encouraged to use E. Virginia Beach Boulevard and Goff Street as alternate routes.

Detour Routes:

From E. Princess Anne Road heading west:

* Turn left onto Park Avenue;
* Turn right onto E. Virginia Beach Boulevard;
* Turn right onto Tidewater Drive;
* Arrive at E. Princess Anne Road.
From Tidewater Drive heading north:
* Turn right onto Goff Street;
* Turn right onto Hanson Avenue;
* Arrive at E. Princess Anne Road.
From Tidewater Drive heading south:
* Turn right onto E. Virginia Beach Boulevard loop;
* Circle loop and continue onto E. Virginia Beach Boulevard eastbound to Park Avenue;
* Turn left onto Park Avenue;
* Arrive at E. Princess Anne Road.
