Teen hit by car in Newport News

Newport News pedestrian accident

Newport News, Va. – A 15-year-old boy was hit by an SUV while crossing Warwick Boulevard Saturday evening.

According to police, the accident happened around 6:30 p.m. near the intersection of Warwick and Thorncliff Drive.

The teen was transported to a hospital by helicopter and is expected to survive.

The driver was not injured.

The intersection where the crash happened is closed while the police department’s Serious Complex Accident Team investigates.
