UPDATE: The case was continued on Thursday morning for Walter Hubbard; stay tuned for updates.

Virginia Beach, Va. - A man accused of shooting and killing a Virginia Beach pharmacist is set to appear in court on Thursday.

Police say Walter Hubbard shot and killed David Kilgore at his pharmacy on Laskin Road back in April.

Court documents show Hubbard went into David's Beach Pharmacy and demanded oxycodone - a strong narcotic similar to morphine.

Investigators say Kilgore - the owner and pharmacist - refused to hand over the drugs, and that's when Hubbard shot him.

After the shooting, investigators say Hubbard robbed another business on 17th Street, then led police on a chase that ended in a crash at Witchduck Road and Virginia Beach Boulevard.

That's where Hubbard was arrested.

Hubbard is facing a number of charges, including first degree murder.

He's scheduled to be in court at 9 a.m. Thursday morning.
