New additions to the Virginia Zoo released into outdoor habitat

Two new orangutans at the Virginia Zoo were released for the first time into their outdoor habitat on Tuesday.

Dara, a 14-year-old female and Solaris, a 10 year-old male will be able to access the habitat in the morning for longer and longer each day until they grow more comfortable with their new home.

The two will be part of the zoo’s Asia-Trail of the Tiger exhibit.
