Kill Devil Hills Police say several people were charged after a fight that occurred Thursday night around 7:00 p.m.

Police say they responded to the assault complaint at the end of W. 1st Street and met with a 20-year-old man who had visible injuries to his head.

The investigation revealed that two people arranged to fight following a disagreement at a party the previous evening. Both were accompanied by friends, which led to additional fights.

A total of eight people were charged with misdemeanors. Police are not identifying them at this time.

Police also note that alcohol was a factor. However, they say that despite rumors and exaggerations that are spreading, no bats, knives, or other weapons were used and that none of the individuals appear to be gang affiliated.
