The former youth minister at Western Branch Baptist Church pleaded guilty Thursday to two felonies involving sexual offenses with girls involved in the church’s youth ministry program.

Brian M. Norris was arrested last November after one of the victims contacted Portsmouth Police to report the crimes.

Police say the inappropriate relations went on for several years and that all of the victims were under 18. Norris had been a youth minister for approximately six years at the church.

According to prosecutors, Norris pleaded guilty to two counts of taking indecent liberties with a minor while in a custodial relationship. The two offenses occurred between September 2012 and November 2013.

Norris faces a maximum of 10 years in prison. He is currently out on bond until his sentencing on August 21st.
