Two injured in Hatteras condo fire

Hatteras, N.C. – Two people were injured overnight in a condo fire in Hatteras Village, according to Dare County Emergency Management.

It happened around 3 a.m. at the Slash Creek Condominiums located in the 57000 block of NC 12 in Hatteras Village.

Two people sustained minor injuries and jumped from a second floor balcony, officials say.

The condo buildings are three stories high.

One building with 12 units was fully engulfed in flames when fire crews arrived on scene.

The fire was under control at 6 a.m., according to Dare County Emergency Management.
