Norfolk, Va. - Neighbors believe a pit bull was shot in Norfolk.

It happened in the Lindenwood section of the city. Neighbors say the dog's owner lives in a home on Hale Street.

Neighbors say they heard one single gun shot fired. They ran outside, and found a pit bull limping. Another neighbor saw Animal Control remove the pit bull from the home.

    This story is not accurate at all. Animal control did NOT take the animal. The dog was rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery and is expected to make a full recovery.
