Four soldiers who survived the jungles of Vietnam were reunited for the first time in more than 40 years this week.
The soldiers were members of the Army’s 173rd Airborne Brigade Reconnaissance Platoon; a four-man unit searching for prisoners of war in Vietnam’s Tiger Mountains, according to our sister station KTLA.
The four were airlifted to safety after one of them lost his leg stepping on a land mine.
All four survived, including the man who lost his leg, but the others never knew because they didn’t know each others’ full names – just nicknames.
Read about how one of their sons finally tracked the others down at KTLA.
