Norfolk, Va. – Young Audiences – Arts for Learning – Virginia brings “The Arts Are Wild,” a literacy celebration through the arts, back to the Virginia Zoo Saturday, May 3, 2014, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“The Arts Are Wild is a fantastic event bringing arts and education together to entertain and educate children of all ages,” said Greg Bockheim, the Zoo’s executive director. “We’re thrilled to have YAV as a partner in the event again this year.”

Presented by Liberty Tax, and supported by TowneBank and a host of other funders, The Arts Are Wild activities will include: musical performances by YAV artists, story boarding, comic book art, poetry, and more! All the activities are included with regular Zoo admission.

Families will also have the opportunity to meet award-winning author and illustrator Cece Bell, well known for her “Sock Monkey” and “Rabbit & Robot” children’s book series. Books will be available for purchasing and signing at the event.
