Beach man found with loaded gun at Norfolk International Aiport

Posted

A Virginia Beach man was stopped by TSA officers at Norfolk International Airport on Thursday morning after a loaded gun was spotted in his carry-on baggage.

A TSA officer staffing the X-Ray checkpoint spotted the loaded .380 caliber Ruger LCP handgun in the man’s bag. It was loaded with six rounds and one chambered.

TSA contacted Norfolk Airport Authority Police who responded, confiscated the gun and ammo and charged the man with carrying a loaded gun on airport property.

The man was able to catch his flight to Indianapolis via Charlotte — minus the weapon.
