Nags Head, N.C. – A 35-year-old man is in the hospital recovering after he had to be medevaced off of a cruise ship on Tuesday afternoon.
The ship, the Norwegian Gem, was 180 miles east of Nags Head at the time.
They alerted Coast Guard officials to the incident at around 2:21 p.m. saying that the man, Brent Killian, was in medical distress.
They hoisted Killian into a helicopter and he was taken back to the air station. He was then transferred to an ambulance crew who got him to the hospital.
He is listed in stable condition.
