Gas line struck on Witchduck Road

Virginia Beach Fire crews have responded to the 500 block of Witchduck Road where a gas line was struck by a contractor.

Authorities say that a two-inch plastic gas line was breached, causing gas to escape.

Virginia Natural Gas is on the scene and are awaiting a digging crew so the line can be fixed.

The southbound lanes of Witchduck Road between Baker Rd. and Virginia Beach Boulevard are blocked due to hose lines.

No businesses have been evacuated. No one has been injured.

Crews say it will take approximately an hour to repair the line.
