Firefighters find man’s body while fighting Carrollton brush fire

Carrollton, Va. – A man’s body was found Saturday evening in Carrollton by firefighters putting out a brush fire.

This happened shortly after 7 p.m. on Gayle Way and New Towne Haven Lane.

Investigators believe Frank Birdwell, 66, was burning debris on his property when he may have had a medical emergency.

Neighbors called in reports of the brush fire and when fire fighters got there, they found Birdwell’s body.

    What a TOTALLY INACCURATE report on this sad tragedy! The man suffered a medical problem that caused him to collapse into the burning leaves.that is when neighbors notified fd! Get it together Erica Greenway!
