Norfolk man arrested for Virginia Beach bank robbery

Virginia Beach, Va. – Police have made an arrest in the robbery of the Bank of America located in the 4600 block of Virginia Beach Blvd.

Police arrested 50-year-old Vernon Eugene Guinn of the 900 block of Colley Avenue in Norfolk. Guinn has been charged with Robbery and is currently being held in the Virginia Beach Correctional Center without bond. He was arrested Wednesday night around 10 p.m. without incident.

The robbery occurred on Wednesday, February 26, 2014, at approximately 3:26 p.m. Emergency Communications received a call for a bank robbery at the Bank of America located at 4616 Virginia Beach Boulevard. The caller stated a lone suspect entered the bank, approached a teller, and presented a note demanding money. An undisclosed amount of money was handed to the suspect. The suspect ran away from the bank on foot, heading west on Virginia Beach Boulevard. Police developed a suspect description within three hours of the incident.
