A new government study finds obesity rates are still high in the United States, but they are improving for preschoolers.

Researchers weighed and measured more than 9,000 people from 2011 to 2012.

They found about one third of adults and 17 percent of children and teens are obese.

But for children ages 2 to 5, obesity rates dropped six percent.
