Crews put out fire in Newport News apartment


Newport News, Va. – On Tuesday, crews in Newport News put out a dryer fire in an apartment building.

Crews received calls about the incident at 6:05 p.m. about the fire in the 500 block of Bellfield Drive in the Denbigh Trace Apartment complex.

When crews arrived, they started an aggressive attack and they also searched the apartment. They had the fire under control by 6:17 p.m.

No one was injured, but the apartment was determined to be uninhabitable because of the smoke damage.
