NEW ZEALAND – Nearly 3 months old Skippy was born without radius bones in his front legs, so hopping up on the back legs feels natural to him.

“His legs have developed to compensate for that… so he often stands up like a little meercat or a kangaroo,” said Nicholas Taylor, animal care and adoptions manager. “Hence, Skippy.”

Skippy’s condition does not cause him pain, but will make him more prone to arthritis later in life.
