Suffolk, Va. – Suffolk Fire & Rescue put out a fire in a vacant farmhouse in the 800 block of Longstreet Lane Saturday night. The call came in at approximately 8:22 p.m., and units were on scene at the rural location at 8:31 p.m.
Engines 1, 4 and 7, Tankers 1 and 7, Battalion 1, EMS 1, and Medic 7 responded to the fire, which was confined to the entry area of the vacant farmhouse and was quickly brought under control. No injuries were reported.
The Suffolk Police Department also responded and the roadway was briefly closed.
The Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
