Virginia Wildlife Center to start releasing black bears Friday

Posted

It’s time to say goodbye to the record number of black bear cubs.

The Virginia Wildlife Center is going to start releasing the black bears starting Friday.

In all, 17 different bear cubs were rescued last year, with the most recent one being admitted to the center in November.

Once the center saw they were running out of space, they worked to raise money and build bigger mammal habitats for the bears to play and learn.

The bears will be released in groups after they are sedated and tagged.

The first group will leave tomorrow and the other cubs will be released next week.
