Norfolk, Va. - Could Norfolk become the home of a new outlet mall?
A development company is trying to move forward with this plan.
The proposed 'Simon Premium Outlet Park' would sit right on the Norfolk/Virginia Beach line near Miller Store Road and Burton Station Road.
It would be 350,000 square feet and would be run by the Simon Property Group. This is the same company that owns the outlets in Williamsburg.
Today during the council meeting, more details on the redevelopment project were discussed.
The firm says it's a $75 million dollar investment which could bring in $135 million in annual sales.
It would also add 800 permanent jobs and 300 construction jobs to Hampton Roads.
