A Navy ship and a submarine are returning to Hampton Roads.

The USS Scranton is scheduled to arrive at Naval Station Norfolk today.

A Navy spokesman says the crew of the Los Angeles-Class Attack Submarine supported maritime security operations while visiting Portugal, Spain, the United Arab Emirates and the British Territory, Diego Garcia.

On Tuesday, the crew of the USS Bainbridge returns to Norfolk after a six-month deployment.

Back in November, some of the crewmembers helped rescue Somali fishermen in the Indian Ocean.

A Navy spokesman says the sailors gave them food and water while towing their boat to territorial waters after their engine failed.
