Newport News, Va. – A Newport News officer was hurt Tuesday night in a crash while he was responding to a call about a robbery.

Calls came in about the robbery at 7:37 p.m. at the Shell Station in the 1000 block of Jefferson Avenue.

They say a suspect who was wearing a black beanie, stocking cap, tan jacket, white shoes, and dark pants went into the store with a handgun demanded money and left the store.
