Suffolk, Va. – A tractor trailer driver was injured early this morning when his rig overturned on Rt. 58 in Suffolk.
Suffolk Fire & Rescue personnel had to extricate the driver from the 18-wheeler. The 58-year-old man was taken to Sentara Obici Hospital by ambulance for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Route 58 westbound was closed briefly to allow emergency vehicles to access the location of the accident, and one lane of travel currently remains closed awaiting a tow truck to remove the vehicle.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
