Norfolk, Va. – ODU police are investigating two robberies that are reported to have occurred on December 3, 2013.
Suspect descriptions in both incidents are similar, officials say.
Norfolk police were notified of the first incident at approximately 9:15 p.m. which originated behind Whitehurst Hall near the waterline. ODU Police were notified of a second incident at approximately 10:30 p.m. on the 1000 block of West 39th Street.
In both incidents, the individuals, ODU students walking alone, were each approached by three males who assaulted them and removed personal property from the victims.
No weapons were involved in either robbery and neither victim sustained serious injuries.
The suspects are described as in their 20s to 30s and were last seen wearing the following clothing:
Suspect #1: black male, 6′, 190 lbs, t-shirt, jeans, and black hoody.
Suspect #2: black male, 5’8”, 150 lbs, white shirt, black pants, and red t-shirt.
Suspect #3: black male, 6’2″, 180 lbs, dark shirt, jeans, and white tennis shoes.
Members of the community are reminded to follow these safety precautions:
Walk in pairs whenever practical.
When walking, follow well-lit pathways.
Avoid carrying and displaying valuables or large sums of cash.
