Newport News, Va. - Dimetri Warner, an 18-year-old man, has been charged after being accused of sexually assaulting an 8-year-old Newport News girl.
Officers say they met with the girl's mother who indicated that she just found out that back in May while visiting a home on Ruston Drive, Warner allegedly touched the girl inappropriately.
SVU detectives started their investigation and on November 27th, Warner was arrested and charged with abduction and object sexual penetration.
His father told NewsChannel 3 that he found out about the allegations last weekend. He says there is no way that Warner inappropriately touched the girl because he was never responsible for caring for her and that he was never alone with her.
Warner's father also says the victim first told her mother about the alleged incident two weeks ago.
