Virginia Beach, Va. – One person is dead and two others are injured after a two-vehicle crash in Virginia Beach on Tuesday night.
This happened in Pungo at around 8:30 p.m. at the foot of the Pungo Ferry Bridge.
Police say a Chevy Malibu was headed east towards Princess Anne Road when it crossed over the double yellow lines and into the path of a Suburban that was going westbound towards Blackwater. The two vehicles collided head-on.
Police say the Malibu originally drifted into the right shoulder and over-corrected, causing her to drive into the path of the Suburban.
A passenger inside of the Malibu died at the scene. He has been identified as 32-year-old Michael Joseph Liszeo, of the 800 block of Princess Anne Road.
Both drivers were taken to a local hospital for treatment. They were both wearing their seatbelts.
Police say the driver of the Malibu was injured but not seriously.
The driver of the Suburban was seriously injured but they were not life-threatening.
No charges have been filed and he cause of the crash remains under investigation.
