Hampton, Va. - Hampton police have identified a man wanted in connection with a death investigation that happened in October.

Police are looking for 47-year-old Anthony James Brooks.

Police say on October 28, 2013, around 8:40 a.m., police communications received a call regarding a deceased person in the 800 block of Teach Street.

When crews arrived, they found 14-year-old Antonio J. Brooks, deceased inside of his home, police say.

Police say there was evidence of suspected child neglect. As a result, detectives obtained a warrant for the teen's father, Anthony James Brooks.

"From what I could see he seemed like a pretty good guy but you know you can't always judge a book by its cover," said neighbor, Laverne Britt.

Brooks is a 47-year-old Hampton man who resides in the 800 block of Teach Street. Brooks currently has an active warrant on file for one count of Felony Child Neglect.

Neighbors tell NewsChannel 3 Brooks kept to himself.

Britt says she often saw him picking up one of his sons at the bus stop.

"I've never even had a conversation with him other than just wave at him when he picked the child up from the bus stop and he would get back in his car and go on about his business," said Britt.
