Crews have responded to a house fire on Knotts Island, according to Currituck County Fire Chief, Robert Glover.
Units from the Knotts Island Volunteer Fire Department, Virginia Beach Fire Department, and Currituck County Fire Department responded to 472 South End Road.
Everyone made it out of the house, and no one was injured, officials say.
The fire has completely destroyed the home, according to a Virginia Beach Fire Department spokesperson.
South End Road approaching the ferry dock is blocked due to fire trucks on the scene.
The fire has been deemed under control.
Here is a message from the North Carolina Ferry System:
A house fire on Knotts Island means the road to and from the ferry terminal is blocked. Because of that, we have to cancel our 3:30 run from Currituck. We hope it will be cleared soon!
