Isle of Wight, Va. - Isle of Wight investigators are searching for two men who they say kicked in the door of a home on Sandy Ridge Drive Monday morning armed with a shotgun, a handgun and a hammer.

The victim, 73-year-old Richard Waters, told NewsChannel 3 he was held at gunpoint for half an hour.

"They was just coming through the door. I said, 'I'm going to blow your brains out' I reached down here like I had a gun and they stopped," says Waters.

When the men realized Waters had no gun by his side, they broke his cell phone, threw his house phone in sink water and ransacked his trailer looking for cash.

The only money they found was in Waters' pocket which was just enough to pay rent and buy a few groceries. But the men wanted more.

"He said, 'You got some money?' I said, 'I don't have no money mister,' and all of a sudden he come around the chair and took the stock of the shotgun and hit me right upside the head," says Waters.

Waters was dizzy, but stayed conscious and calm.

When the men finally left with his rent money and his son's 20 gauge squirrel gun, Waters had to crawl his way out for help.

A stroke five years ago left Waters unable to get around without his walker that was now across the room.

"I had to push and slide. Only could use the one hand pushing and sliding,” says Waters.

He made his way out and woke his neighbor who called 911.

Police say no one else was at home at the time.
