UPDATE: The man was taken into police custody shortly after 11:30 a.m. and is currently being evaluated. The suspect has been identified as 26-year-old Jeffrey Adam Mayo of the 4100 block of Tattershall Court. He is charged with Brandishing a Firearm, Reckless Handling of a Firearm, and Discharging a Firearm in Public.

Virginia Beach, Va. – Police are currently on the scene of a standoff situation in Virginia Beach.

At approximately 2:35 a.m., officers and SWAT members were called to the scene in the 4100 block of Tattershall Court in the Timberlake area after a report of a 26-year-old man inside being ‘distraught over a domestic situation’.

The man is threatening to harm himself; negotiations are ongoing at this time.
