Could College Beach Weekend happen again on the Oceanfront?

Posted

Could there be a College Beach Weekend part two?

According to a flyer circulating around social media sites, it’s happening July 26th through 28th in Virginia Beach.

It was posted on NewsChannel 3’s Facebook page and even got the attention of Beach Police and Mayor Will Sessoms.

In April, thousands of young adults flocked to the Oceanfront for College Beach Weekend.

It was a violent few days, leaving many injured after several stabbings, shootings and fights broke out

The flyer looks to be advertised by 2 Gun Crew and at the bottom of the flyer it reads "If you went to the first one, you know the turn-up is real."

NewsChannel 3 took action and tried to find more information about the event, but we didn't find anything other than a few Twitter posts asking if the event is really happening.

Mayor Sessoms responded this afternoon on his Facebook page, saying "I want everyone to know the city and police department are aware of the flyer, and we are monitoring the situation and staying on top of it.”

Beach police say though they have gotten several questions about the ad, they have no idea who is responsible or if this is anything more than just a flyer.
