Norfolk, Va. – It’s been another big week for ODU baseball’s Ben Verlander. Last week, the outfielder was drafted to the Tigers, and this week he can add another accomplishment to the list.

The junior was named third team All-American by National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association. Verlander is a first team all-CAA selection, a semifinalist for the Gregg Olson Award, ranked eighth in the CAA in hitting at 367, third in homers with 11, and led ODU in runs scored with 46, along with four triples and 13 stolen bases.

Now the selection for first, second, and third teams is made after two rounds of voting and there are 19 different conferences represented along with 12 conference championships teams.
