Virginia Beach, Va. - A woman is behind bars and charged with malicious assault after police say she stabbed 21-year-old Jorge Silas in the back.

Someone nearby caught the entire incident on video and it appeared online last night.

Silas spoke to NewsChannel 3 today to tell his side of the story.

Silas says he had broken up with his ex-girlfriend and she arrived in a car with her friend, identified as 19-year-old Kelsey Taylor Deaton. He says Deaton got out of the car and started to argue with him. That's when he says things became physical.

Silas tells NewsChannel 3 that Deaton came out of the car and smacked him.

"She then took a knife from her chest and she tried to slice me, she missed, and I saw her coming towards me. I ran away and the knife was just in my back, like a ninja. It was really hard and I was bleeding. I was in shock," says Silas. "I was just thinking about that knife. I didn't have no feeling, I was just whatever I hit, I didn't feel it."

He says the blade was 2 centimeters away from his spinal cord.

Virginia Beach Police received calls about the incident in the 1200 block of Green Garden Circle at 6:36 p.m. on Wednesday.

Silas was with friends in the area when the two women showed up.

Deaton was arrested and charged with malicious assault. She remains in the Virginia Beach Correctional Center without bond.

Silas says he has been bombarded with messages from folks asking about his condition.
