While the nation’s eyes were focused on Saturday’s Powerball drawing, two tickets matched all six numbers in Friday’s Mega Millions drawing.
Those tickets, which were bought in Virginia and New Jersey, will now split the estimated $190 million jackpot ($95 million each).
The Virginia ticket was bought at the Food Lion at 1592 South Main Street in Farmville.
The winning numbers were 11-15-35-43-49 and the Mega Ball number 41.
The Virginia winner has 180 days from the drawing to claim the prize. That person or persons will have a choice: Either take the full $95 million in 30 annual payments or a one-time cash option of approximately $70.3 million before taxes.
This is Virginia’s 8th Mega Millions jackpot win. In addition, Virginia had its first Powerball jackpot win in February, when Dave and Nancy Honeywell of Fredericksburg claimed a $217 million jackpot.
