Hampton, Va. - Chasie Dermady sits on her couch in Hampton resting her broken ankle on a pillow and sore from the bruises that cover parts of her body.

"Something just told me inside if you don't get out of here, you're not going to make it,” says Chasie.

She sent NewsChannel 3 an email asking for help to find three men who pulled her from her car minutes before it burst into flames.

"He said ma'am your car’s on fire. We need to get you out. It's going to blow," says Chasie.

Chasie's car was completely charred and sitting at a nearby service center waiting to be picked up and scrapped. There is nothing but ashes and debris inside of it.

Chasie says the crash happened along Lombardy Road in King and Queen County when she hit something in the road causing her to lose control.

She says she blacked out at one point but when she came to and realized she had gone down a ravine and hit a tree.

"I'm trying to get out of the car. I tried to open the driver's side door but it wouldn't open," says Chasie.

And that's when she says the guys came out of nowhere pulling her to safety.

"It's a blessing or a miracle in my opinion," says Robert Dermandy, Chasie’s husband.

Chasie's husband, Robert, says on a back country road an hour could go by before the next car passes.

That's why they want to personally thank the men they call heroes.

"I thank them from the bottom of my heart because without them, I'd probably be preparing for a funeral," the couple says.

Whether they were in the right place at the right time or, as Chasie and Robert believe, sent by God.

"Words couldn't describe how I feel about those guys. I would tell them, 'You were my guardian angels,'" says Chasie.
