Virginia Beach community takes action for man battling cancer
Virginia Beach, Va. – The community is taking action to raise money for a popular Norfolk mechanic who is battling cancer.
Pete Pahno Junior has an agressive form of colon cancer, so to help with his medical bills family and friends organized a fundraiser.
It was held Saturday afternoon at Footers Sports Pub in Virginia Beach.
Along with a BBQ dinner, there were raffle prizes and an auction.
Pahno was just diagnosed with cancer in November.
“It was really fast. He had surgery right after he was diagnosed in November and had to immediately go through chemo, and that’s what he’s doing right now, going through weekly chemo treatments,” Ellen Myers, a family friend.
All of the money raised will go to Pahno. His family has also set up a Facebook page where you can get updates and learn more about making donations. Here’s a link to the page.
